Quartz is common stone but also one of the hardest stones available, surpassing sandstone and slates.  Its durability is regarded as very high.  Desert Gold actually comes all the way from China.  Its light cream hues are accented with golds and browns throughout the pieces.  The added benefit is its beautiful glimmer and shine makes it appear as though its been sealed, without having to add any harsh chemicals.  The surface of this stone is Natural Cleft, although is particularly smooth for this cut.
